| 作品紹介 | 静かに降り積もる雪に包まれた向島の水辺。 舟、家屋、水面に映る光――すべてが抑制された色調で描かれ、音のない時間が流れています。 巴水らしい余白と静寂、そして雪の粒子感が画面全体に広がり、見る者をそっと風景の中へ引き込みます。 人の気配はありながらも、決して主張しない。日本的な情緒と詩情が凝縮された一枚です。 川瀬巴水（かわせ はすい／1883–1957）**は、大正から昭和期にかけて活躍した新版画運動を代表する風景版画家である。 鏑木清方に日本画を学び、版元・渡邊庄三郎のもとで新版画制作に参加。絵師・彫師・摺師の分業による伝統的木版技法を基盤としながら、写生に基づく写実性と近代的な光の表現を融合させた。 This print depicts Mukōjima under gently falling snow, enveloped in silence and stillness. Boats, houses, and reflections on the water are rendered in subdued tones, creating a quiet, timeless atmosphere. Hasui’s signature use of negative space, soft light, and delicate snowfall draws the viewer into the scene. Though traces of human presence remain, they never dominate—an evocative expression of Japanese poetic sensibility. Kawase Hasui (1883–1957) was a leading landscape artist of the Shin-hanga movement. Traveling throughout Japan, he captured fleeting moments—rain, snow, dusk—with deep lyricism.
